A Google filter is an algorithmic or manual penalty for failing to comply with the search engine regulations ( violation of Google ‘s webmaster guidelines). It results in a lower position in the search results. There are two types of filters: full and partial.

The overall filter reduces the position of the site to all positioned keywords, while the effect of the partial filter is the loss of the site’s position on selected phrases in the search results. The effect of Google’s penalty is a sharp drop in website traffic.
